We are currently recruiting a makeup artist for a job share on This Morning. We are looking for someone with extensive training in makeup and hair and at least 5 years experience of working in Film/Broadcast Television. 

You will be working early morning hours for our shows and applying make-up for presenters, performers and members of the public appearing on screen. Your duties will include a basic set-up and maintenance of the make-up/hair workstations, keeping the workstations clean and tidy, laying out brushes and products for the day ahead, and ensuring that product levels are maintained. You will need to be available upon request to be on set to redo and touch up make-up when required. Working very closely with the production, you will ensure that you are working to any briefs or instructions. 

Applicants must be a strong team player and able to work closely with our small team of makeup artists and our regular presenters and guests. Successful applicants will need to be highly organised, have excellent presentation and communication skills, and work effectively as part of a team whilst remaining calm and efficient under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You must be up to date with new make-up methods and trends, have an interest in the media environment and have experience working on a live show. In addition, punctuality and reliability are key.

You will need to be confident and efficient in working with diverse skin tones and have a good understanding of different hair textures and types.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)...

• At least 5 years experience working in broadcast television, film or theatre.
• Experience communicating with a range of contributors, maintaining complete discretion.
• Experience communicating well with a production team
• Responsible for making up (hair and make-up) and maintaining ‘look’ throughout filming
• Experience preparing appropriate make-up/wigs etc. Ensuring care and cleanliness of equipment/ wigs and hairpieces and any other make-up device required as per script.  
• Experience breaking down schedules in order to discern make-up requirements in conjunction with make-up supervisor.
• Experience cutting hair.
• Experience working at speed and regular touch ups on studio floor or on location
