ITV is undergoing a major digital transformation. To support this we need to ‘level-up’ ITV’s agile delivery capability, in order to help teams and programmes deliver more easily and effectively and enable better understanding and support from sponsors and business stakeholders. This will support our business units and transformation programmes to collaborate, adapt and innovate at speed.


Bringing deep experience and expertise of the Atlassian suite, the purpose of this role is to own ITV’s Atlassian Jira and Confluence toolset and establish best-practice, shared ways of working in order to improve efficiency of use of Jira, as well as serving as a Subject Matter Expert to help maintain standards. 


The role will be a part of Group Technology, sitting in the Collaboration Tools team, working closely with the Head of Group Agile Delivery and Agile teams throughout the organisation. This is an opportunity to help shape how ITV delivers a consistent Agile framework and evolves to a scaled agile practices in the future- a critical transformation initiative in driving change across ITV.


This role entails…

  • Working with the Head of Group Agile Delivery, Agile Delivery Managers and other key stakeholders to continually manage ITV’s Jira and Confluence tool and ensure it is kept accurate, up to date and in line with ITV’s Agile Framework
  • Fielding questions and providing hands-on support to internal teams and stakeholders, including proactive front-end system maintenance (Sprints, Boards, Reporting, Dashboards) and back-end system maintenance (backups, indexing, configuration etc) 
  • Implementing new Jira projects, workflows, integrations, customisations, and installing and updating Jira plugins that help deliver an efficient environment for Agile teams
  • Supporting teams through system changes with proactive change management- impact assessing what the change will mean for them and ensuring clear communication of any changes made
  • Conduct training for employees and new hires on JIRA and Confluence regarding how to use the tools, new functionality and supporting creation of training materials 
  • Working closely with the Service Integration and Management team to manage Atlassian Jira and Confluence support
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for Atlassian Jira, bringing knowledge of best practice to the Programme and offering new ways the Atlassian suite could be used more effectively
  • Managing a complex stakeholder environment; pushing back in order to maintain Jira standards and defining the criteria and process where projects can deviate from standard, reporting to the Head of Group Agile Delivery, who is responsible for this decision


Key responsibilities:


To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Minimum role criteria:


  • Proven experience of working with Atlassian Jira, preferably Agile and Jira certified
  • Expert level tool administration knowledge on Jira, and proficiency in Atlassian tool suite
  • Extensive experience working with the Jira tool in large scale transformations and high velocity Agile environments, accustomed to operating using Agile, Lean and SAFe principles
  • You'll be a resilient self starter, proactive and motivated
  • Excellent stakeholder management and demonstrable experience of problem management and resolution
