The team

ITV is seeking an innovative and visionary leader for the role of Head of Generative AI Innovation. This position will drive the strategy and execution of AI-driven transformation across both ITV Studios and ITV’s streaming services (ITVX). The successful candidate will lead the exploration, development, and deployment of cutting-edge generative AI technologies that will shape the future of content creation, streaming experiences, and operational workflows.

The role

• AI Strategy Development: Develop and lead ITV’s comprehensive generative AI strategy, ensuring alignment with both Studios’ production needs and ITV's streaming objectives.
• Creative AI Innovation: Spearhead AI-driven innovations in content creation for TV shows, films, and digital-first content across ITV Studios and ITVX. Implement tools like AI-generated ideation, character development, and enhanced production graphics.
• Streaming Personalisation: Leverage AI to enhance viewer experiences on ITVX through advanced content recommendations, personalised streaming interfaces, and dynamic metadata enrichment.
• Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with data and tech teams to implement AI solutions that optimise back-end workflows, from content tagging and categorisation on ITVX to automating production schedules at ITV Studios.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performance team of AI experts, developers, and researchers. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous innovation within the Generative AI unit.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders across Creative Development, Marketing, Data & Insights, and Engineering teams to scale AI capabilities across the company.
• Emerging Tech Integration: Identify and incorporate the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and generative technologies to enhance creative output and operational efficiency.
• Thought Leadership: Act as ITV's representative in AI forums, conferences, and media. Drive awareness of the company's AI initiatives and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• Demonstrated experience in applying AI/ML technologies, with a strong focus on generative AI.
• Proven ability to implement AI-driven solutions in both creative environments (content creation, production) and digital/streaming platforms (personalisation, user experience).
• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects across diverse business units.
• Deep understanding of the media and entertainment industry, including emerging AI trends in content development and digital streaming.
• Ability to align technical AI capabilities with business goals and deliver tangible, measurable outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with AI-powered tools for streaming services, such as recommendation engines, dynamic metadata enrichment, and personalised content experiences.
• A passion for merging creative content production with cutting-edge AI technology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment, driving innovation and leading multiple projects simultaneously.
